What Women Really Want > Gift for my boyfriend's mum's 50th birthday

My boyfriend's mother is having her 50th soon, and I have no idea what to get her.

What would be the appropriate amount to spend on a gift? Would it be better to find a a 50th birthday present that she can keep, as opposed to something she would eat or drink (or a spa voucher perhaps) that would be gone?

She's a mother of three boys so she doesn't have much time for herself as she's either cooking, cleaning or washing... but she likes things like scrabble and reading.

Any ideas?

For my mum's 50th birthday, some of the most appreciated presents were nice jewellery, and a voucher which my mother-in-law got her to have a facial at an Aveda spa.

She loved the facial and now goes there regularly!

If she's a busy woman, maybe she'd appreciate some time out to pamper herself.

Good luck

May get her a mirror (compact) and get her name engraved on it. I gave that gift for my mum's 60th birthday.
If she likes scrabble, then what about other board games like conundrum?

Other ideas - makeup case? travel case? overnight bag? I think $50 is fine for a gift

$50 IS PLENTY FOR A GIFT

I think $50 is enough for a gift as well. A nice/posh bottle of wine is always good as well as long as it is nicely wrapped (not just in a paper bag lol)

A spa voucher is perfect for a 50th birthday gift. I gave my mum a spa voucher for her 60th brithday and she loved it - she had never been to a spa before and now she goes whenever she can
