As usual there is conflicting evidence about who the day is named after and when people started to use that day to send notes of love, but is said to be around the 19th century. Nowadays of course, handwritten notes have largely given way to the mass market, mass produced cards we see in the shops today - along with other traditional symbols of love. The hearts, the roses, cupid and white doves. But nonetheless, it is a beautiful way to say "I love you"

What is it about red roses that says "love" and "be mine"? I'm not sure, but they are the epitome of the most romantic gift you can give to the person you love. Or you really like but don't know how to tell them.

With online florists, a credit card and a name and address you can really be anonymous if you would like to be. But honestly where is the fun in that? Unless you are also into stalking the person you like that is! Personally I like to see the look on their faces when they receive their gifts.
