for my BF's 25th birthday present - I accidentally paid for an hour with a prostitute! We were in Singapore, and I thought it was a spa I had taken him to - but it was a brothel. I was mortified. He never told me what happened - but we're now married so I guess he quite liked the gift!
I got a bag of marbles for my 30th. i'm not sure if it was supposed to be retro... or a statement about finally growing up. It was an unusual gift, i'll give it that!
my friend bought me a worm farm for my 21st birthday. your supposed to put all your food scraps in it and the worms eat it up. the idea of having that many worms near me just freaked me out and I gave it away. I told my friend that they died and I had to throw it out! soooooo funny.
I once got given a pair of shoes. they were newish, but you could tell they'd been worn before. the tag was still on them, so the person who bought it must have kept the tag on, wore them a few times and then given them to me. Or she just bought a pair of shoes she realised she didn't like and then have them away as a gift.
I just got a gift voucher for a really posh gourmet food shop - it was for an engagement present. I wouldn't normally go into this shop, but I had to because of the gift voucher. There were loads of food brands I had never seen before and I bought some really good quality coffee, some posh biscuits and pasta sauce etc. It was a lovely experience because there were loads of free tastings etc in the shop. I went home and cooked a really special meal for my fiance. It was a great gift
One unusual gift that is getting popular today in the whole Australia is Mylight. I guess many people knows this already. You can customize it, choose the words, choose the fonts and style so it can be more meaningful to the person who will receive it.
